As always, there is no official meeting for July, but instead a bog walk where members
may enjoy carnivorous plants in their natural environment. This year’s bog walk will be at
Eppley preserve, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 PM. Here are the directions:
Destination:
Audubon Society of Rhode Island - Marion Eppley Preserve.
Dugway Bridge Rd, South Kingstown, RI.
Meeting 1/2 mile north of Rt 138
From Rt 95 take exit 3a onto Rt 138 east (Kingstown Rd/Usquepaugh Rd).
Follow Rt 138 east for 5.9 miles.
Turn left (north) onto Dugway Bridge Rd.
From Rt 2 (South Country Trail), turn west onto Rt 138 (Kingstown
Rd/Usquepaugh Rd).
Follow Rt 138 west for 1.4 miles.
Turn right (north) onto Dugway Bridge Rd.
We will be walking on in woods without trails.
We will be walking on a quaking sphagnum bog with difficult footing.
